Leading Wholesale Distributor Moves to Swadlincote

East Midlands-based wholesale distributor SERT UK PLC has moved its operations to a new purpose built warehouse in Swadlincote this month, thanks to a £10 million funding package from Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets. The move has created 100 new jobs in the area.
Previously based in Nottingham, with MST (its second distribution centre) in Wakefield, the distributor supplies big brand toiletries and food products to both tier 1 multiples and smaller retail outlets. The company has changed its name to SERT-MST PLC as the two brands come together in one location for the first time. The team from Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, led by Relationship Director John Haycox, provided the financial support to enable the company to achieve this long-held strategic goal by facilitating the purchase of a 240,000 square foot warehouse to act as the business’ head quarters and distribution centre.
